Weiner Dog Racing and Dollar Days Coming to Ellis Park

I'm still sort of uncomfortable using the term "Weiner Dog", knowing full well the term refers to a hot dog and not a boyish slang term for his junk, or the infamous politician Anthony Weiner.  So now that I've got that off my chest, the insanely popular Weiner Dog races are returning to Ellis Park and you must register your weiner by August 1st.  The form to do that is here.  The qualifying racing takes place Aug 20th and 21st, then the go for the gold happens Aug.27th.  Someday, this doggie race could become an Olympic event.  No steroid injected canines please. Starting this Sunday, it's dollar days.  As you can see above, plenty of good things will only cost a dollar at the ol' racetrack.

Ellis Park does a good job of creating events that are fun and diverse.  Play the ponies, yes...but enjoy the rest.
