Volbeat are taking the idea of 'Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies' to a new extreme, with the ultimate shady character appearing in their new video for 'Lonesome Rider.' The clip finds a young woman crossing paths with the Grim Reaper out on the Western plains.

The video, written and directed by Plastickid, finds a young woman and her driver carting the coffin of what is presumed to be a dead soldier who is the love of her life across the brutal terrain while trailed in the distance by a darkly cloaked figure. She eventually crosses paths with the reaper, who offers her the chance to reunite with her immortal beloved.

The song is actually a duet for Volbeat, who teamed with the Canadian artist Sarah Blackwood on the track. It follows in the footsteps of such other 'Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies' tracks as 'Cape of Our Hero,' 'The Hangman's Body Count' and 'Lola Montez,' which have all done very well on the rock charts.

Volbeat have three shows in Japan later this month, before jetting off to Australia for the Soundwave Festival. The band will begin a North American tour April 3 in Denver, with dates booked into early May. Trivium and Digital Summer will join them for the run. Dates can be seen here.
