Life imitates art, and at times it can also imitate video games. Shoe brand Jim Rickey hired Stockholm photographer Christian Aslund for its recent ad campaign, in which the streets of Hong Kong were temporarily changed into a 2D video game.

These God's Eye camera shots have a model lying nearly flat on the streets, and from this perspective he looks like he's in the middle of an urban inspired, endless runner title. Although the gold coins that litter these type of games are nowhere to be found, at least there's a little yellow to put a little color pop amidst all that grey. Below are several more of Aslund's inspired images from the campaign, which is aptly named Honkey Kong. Tell us if these photos are a solid homage to video games, or if our brains just are permanently stuck in a pixel drenched universe.
