VHS Hosts Fido Walk, Rock, & Run for Area Families and Dogs!

The 12^th annual Fido Walk, Rock & Run is just around the corner. Join us on Saturday, September 14^th, for a fun-filled morning to benefit the VHS. This year’s event will take place from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Vanderburgh Humane Society near Garvin Park, at West Morgan Avenue and Read Street.  The event will feature the always popular Fido Walk Pledge Walk, 5K Run, activities for kids and dogs, the Fido 2K Fetch, food, and more.  Registration is now open and participants are encouraged to visit www.vhslifesaver.org to register online for the Fido Walk Pledge Walk and the 5K Run. Create a personal fundraising page with photos and then share it to friends and family. Participants are encouraged to create a team of walkers/runners.

Tickets for the Fido 2K Fetch are also available at the VHS. Tickets are $10 and each ticket is a chance to win $500 at the event.  Only 250 tickets are available.  The night of the Fido Walk, 250 numbered tennis balls will be placed in one the VHS dog yards. They will then send out a VHS dog and the first ball “fetched” is the big winner. You do not need to be present to win.

The VHS still has several open spots for vendors at the Fido Walk.  Booth space is available for vendors of animal-related products or services. Participants may distribute educational literature, conduct demonstrations, or offer samples.  This is an opportunity for friends of the VHS to gain exposure to a pet-friendly audience.
