Sharks are really cool. This is something that is known from the youngest of ages, and something that is carried in the hearts of men and women throughout their lives. Sharks are inherently one of the coolest animals in the world. When it was announced that Titan Comics is reviving the classic sharksploitation strip Hookjaw, suddenly the dearth of shark-focused comics in the marketplace became readily apparent.

Thankfully Si Spurrier, Conor BoyleGiulia Brusco and Rob Steen's revival of the classic British comic will help fill the shark-shaped hole we didn't know existed until now. Edited by marine life expert (and comic book editor, natch) Steve White, Hookjaw updates the themes of conservationism and environmentalism from the original strips in the pages of controversial magazine Action, and features a group of marine scientists caught in the crossfire between Somali pirates and the US Navy.
