This Friday through Sunday at the Haynies Corner Arts District it's The Alhambras Art Explosion!

It all begins Friday night at The Event Gallery 956 Parrett St. Evansville IN 7:00-11 p.m. (21 and over)

It's the premiere kickoff event for this progressive

art weekend.

+Come check out "Gore Galore's" props and costumes

(they are featured in most National Theme Parks).

They started their business in the the Haynies Corner

neighborhood. They've made props for Law and Order,

Criminal Intent, and Court TV.

+Jazz music by Monte Skelton, Theo Akai and Matt Courtney.

 

+National Winner of Guitar Center's Battle of the Blues

in Hollywood, Blues Guitarist "Boscoe" France Band.

and a dozen of our wonderful local artists.

 

Saturday 9/22 -The Phillip's "Pop Up" Park green space, 45-49 Washington Av., 11-5 rain or shine.

Mural competition, Children's Mural area,

Healthy lunch offerings, yoga demonstrations,

DJ, and more from local artists.

Family friendly zone, kids 12 and under are free.

 

This day is the same day as "Race for the Cure", anyone

showing up with a RFTC t-shirt gets in free.

 

Come check out the awesome artwork inside and

outside at Patchwork Central.

Note: Bring a chair or blanket & enjoy the afternoon.

 

Saturday 9/22- The galleries will be open 7-11 p.m.

"Pop Up" Gallery- Adams Street Galleries, 56-58

Adams Street, 12 local artists who have been crafting

their art forms for over 20 years.

Cynthia Watson, James Durachta, Keith Boyd, Ray

Vigurs, Emily Gartner, Jenny Smith, Joe Smith, Eric

Braysmith, Alisa (Al) Holen, Benny Walker, Jane Case

Vickers and Katie Waters.

 

Billy Hedel's Gallery, 7-11 p.m. 916 S.E. 6th St.

Evansville's only live/work space in the Arts District

Billy will be offering his new Washington Av. Historical

architectural renderings inspired by May's National

Preservation Month.

Denny Myers will have a beautifully crafted,

wood turned trunk show in this gallery as well.

 

Sunday 9/23 Both galleries will be open from 12-4.

Adams Street Gallery will feature the murals from the

mural competition. Come vote for your favorite for

$1./vote.

 

A poetry reading will start at 1:00 and Zion and friends

will play 2-3:30. Food will be available for purchase at

the Alhambra Theater near the Adams Street Gallery by

Kirby's.
