I'm no doctor, but I think coughing up blood after a recording session isn't healthy. You've gotta take care of your voice! Especially when you sing/scream as much as Caleb Shomo does.

When you're in a profession that has you using your voice a lot on a daily basis (like singers, voice over actors, and even radio dj's), you need to take care of your voice or you'll lose it.

Or, in some hardcore bands case, start coughing up blood.

Luckily, singers tend to make the smart choice to get a vocal coach before it gets to "coughing up blood levels". (Sometimes.)

Which is where Melissa Cross comes in. She's a classical trained singer/vocal coach that specifically helps out singers of metal/hardcore bands to help them to essentially "scream in a healthy way".
