I am hardly a huge Beatles fan but I can appreciate what they meant to the genre, our culture and their impact on the world at large.

You could say they were "more popular than Jesus".  Somebody could say that, I guess.  Probably wouldn't create much of a stir.  Long and the short of it, the Beatles were kind of important and HBO is going to recognize the late George Harrison with a documentary on the man that looks quite interesting...a man who felt he had more to offer than just being "in the Beatles".
