I grew up (and still am) a diehard Cincinnati Reds fan. Without question, my favorite player of all time is Eric Davis. My second just got the nod to go to Cooperstown. Barry Larkin. You can make the case that he was the best shortstop in the history of the franchise, one that is the oldest in the sport. He didn't do any one thing great...he was just really good at everything.

It was epic...Jay Bruce steps up in the bottom of the 9th, tied game and takes the first pitch out to center to clinch the division and give my Reds their first postseason berth since 1995. However, they were not quite ready for the show being subsequently swept by the Philadelphia Phillies.
This was supposed to be the year...when they make the big jump...
