Memphis has a great musical tradition and rock music will definitely be on display as part of the Beale Street Music Festival. Alice in Chains, the Black Keys and Smashing Pumpkins have been selected as the headliners for the three-day music weekend.

Organizers for the festival have rounded up Guns N' Roses, Alice in Chains and Korn to headline the three-day music weekend May 24-26 at the "Catch the Fever" Festival Grounds in Pryor, Oklahoma.

After spending a good portion of the year in the studio recording the upcoming Alice in Chains album, singer-guitarist Jerry Cantrell is in the mood to get out and play. Cantrell was a surprise guest of the Walking Papers during their performance at the Crocodile Café in Seattle Saturday night (Dec. 15).

The process took a little longer than expected with Jerry Cantrell needing a break for shoulder surgery in the midst of writing and recording the music, but things are now back on track for the rockers and they've got a little Holiday surprise in store for fans.
Alice in Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell has confirmed that the band recently finished recording their new album, due out in 2013. The new disc will mark the follow-up to their 2009 release ‘Black Gives Way to Blue.’ Alice in Chains started working on the new tunes back in 2011 but were sidelined when Cantrell had to undergo surgery on his shoulder.
