I saw Star Wars: The Force Awakens last night...and here's what I have to say about that.

First of all, I'm not going to spoil it for you. I went into this movie with no knowledge of the "official" plot of the movie because the trailers are essentially just shots of characters running. So all I knew was that there was going to be running involved...

After seeing the movie I now understand why the trailers were so vague. You can't give out any information about any part of the movie without spoiling something. INCLUDING THE PLOT.

Even if I DID want to spoil the movie for you, I wouldn't even know where to begin...

What I CAN tell you is this: You know how Episode IV-VI had a few "bombshell" moments? Like, (SPOILERS IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE ORIGINAL STAR WARS) when we found out Luke and Leia were brother and sister, and of course the classic "Luke...I AM you father..." Episode VII is FULL of bombshell moments. I felt like every 15 minutes I was going "Wait...WHAT!??" or "Oh. My. GOD."

Also, there are a LOT of surprise cameos. I'm not going to say who. Some of them we were all anticipating, and others I was actually very surprised to see. One of which was Carrie Fisher's daughter, Billie Lourd, who makes a brief cameo as Lt. Connix. (You can't miss her, just look for the blonde with the Leia buns.)

Compared  to all other Star Wars films, The Force Awakens was probably the funniest AND the tear jerkiest Episode of them all. (Seriously, you'll need tissues. Grown men were crying in the theatre when I went. None of us were prepared.)

Here's what I can tell you about some of the new characters (without spoilers):

Kylo Ren: Dark Side. Daddy Issues. Tall child prone to temper tantrums. Bombshell of a backstory.

Rey: Badass. That's it. She's just amazing.

Finn: Was not the character I expected...but in a good way. Awesome. Surprising beginning.

Poe Dameron: Pilot. Good guy.

Captain Phasma: Female in a Vader suit.

BB-8: The SASSIEST robot I have ever seen. Adorable.

General Hux: Evil Bill Weasley.

And here's a list of people you may not realize are in the movie because of CGI or make-up:

Lupita Nyong'o plays Maz Kanata.

Andy Serkis plays Supreme Leader Snoke.

Gwendoline Christie is the beautiful face behind the Captain Phasma helmet.

Simon Pegg is Unkar Plutt.

Warwick Davis plays Wollivan.

Judah Friedlander plays a bar patron.

Thomas Brodie-Sangster plays a First Order Officer.

And, even though they aren't on screen at any time, I was surprised to find out that Bill Hader and Ben Schwarts were Voice Consultants for BB-8.

So, GO SEE THE FORCE AWAKENS. I went in not expecting anything in particular...I mean, Episodes IV-VI were really good, but when I was little Episodes I-III were coming out...I grew up in the Jar-Jar generation, so you can see why I was slightly hesitant about another Star Wars film. But I got WAY MORE than I expected. There's SO MUCH. And it's all SO GOOD.

I give it 10/10 Rebel Forces.
