The Smashing Pumpkins held their 30th anniversary celebration last night (Aug. 2) performing a New Jersey gig with plenty of special guests. Among those who graced the stage were Courtney Love, DeftonesChino Moreno, AFI’s Davey Havok and Sugar Ray’s Mark McGrath.

After Smashing Pumpkins blazed through 11 tracks by themselves, Moreno came out as the band’s first special guest, singing on “Bodies” and “Snail.”

After the Pumpkins went mellow with “Tonight, Tonight” and a cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven,” Dave Keuning and Mark Stoermer of the Killers made an appearance, performing “Cherub Rock” and “1979.” Following that duo of tracks, the most ‘90s thing to ever happen took place… Smashing Pumpkins covered Sugar Ray’s “Fly” with Mark McGrath.

McGrath even turned the set back yet another decade, honoring the ‘80s with a cover of Judas Priest’s “Breaking the Law.”

After McGrath departed the stage and the Pumpkins performed their all-time classic “Today,” Courtney Love came to the stage to sing some of her most well known material. Smashing Pumpkins and Love jammed Hole hits “Celebrity Skin” and “Malibu.”

Finally, Davey Havok and New Order / Joy Division’s Peter Hook closed the cameos out with a couple of songs by Hook's former bands: New Order's “Age of Consent” and Joy Division's “Transmission" and “Love Will Tear Us Apart” (with Courtney Love returning to the stage for the latter).
