Believe it or not, but Slayer had never actually played a Rock in Rio festival gig until last night (Sept. 22). On the same bill as Iron Maiden and Avenged Sevenfold, Slayer pummeled the Brazilian crowd with some pure American thrash, and here you can watch footage from the band's Rock in Rio 2013 set.

Rock in Rio was a metal fan's paradise last night, with Sepultura, Helloween, Destruction, Krisiun, Kai Hansen, Andre Matos and Viper performing along with Iron Maiden and Avenged Sevenfold. Currently comprised of frontman Tom Araya, guitarist Kerry King, Exodus guitarist Gary Holt and drummer Paul Bostaph, Slayer finally made their Rock in Rio debut on Sunday.

During their inaugural Rock in Rio gig, Slayer busted out 13 tracks spanning the thrash band's entire career. Slayer began their show with new-era tracks 'World Painted Blood' and 'Disciple' before going into vintage pieces such as 'Die by the Sword' and ending with 'Raining Blood' and 'Angel of Death.'
