Shots Fired Outside Eastland Mall – Suspects in Custody

In a Facebook post today, EvansvilleWatch stated, "Police on the scene of a shots fired at Eastland [Mall]."

They went on to say that:

EvansvilleWatch Shoplifter feld the scene in a green Camry and was shortly taken into EPD custody in front of Kenny Kent on the Lloyd .

EvansvilleWatch  "EPD Sgt. Brent Melton confirms shots fired. Two suspects in custody."

EvansvilleWatch  "Says two elderly women had purse snatched, people chased suspects outside. Unclear who did the shooting."

According to the Evansville Police Dept., shots were fired when concerned citizens chased the suspects out of the mall. It is unclear at this time where the shots came from. Police also say one of the elderly women may have been dragged and suffered from abrasions on her body.
