Pop Evil have begun the recording process for their fourth album. The band has selected producer Adam Kasper (Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Foo Fighters) to oversee the follow-up to their highly successful 'Onyx' album. The disc is set to be released sometime this summer.

"It was very important to us to choose a producer that has the credentials," says frontman Leigh Kakaty. "We also had a distinct vision on where the band could move forward and take our sound into the future. With the success of our last record we wanted to challenge ourselves and explore new and creative ways of musical expression."

"Individually, these guys are all great players and writers," says Kasper. "Collectively they are a force to be reckoned with. Musically this record is intricate, heavy and melodic. With their charismatic lead singer and a drummer that sounds like John Bonham and Dave Grohl's love child, I'm more than excited about this one."

Pop Evil have been posting studio updates and photos on their Facebook page with behind the scenes videos coming soon.

The still-untitled new album follows Pop Evil's most successful release so far. 'Onyx' spawned three No. 1 active rock singles ('Trenches,' 'Deal With the Devil' and 'Torn To Pieces') and landed at No. 39 on the Billboard 200 album chart.
