The 90's brought in a few new takes on and old genre...rock music.  Nu-Metal bands emerged like Korn and Limp Bizkit, to the rebirth of metal thanks to the exploding  popularity of Metallica who had been growing their fanbase since the 80's, but the 'Black' album in 1991 made "Metal" more fashionable than ever.  One genre however single handedly wiped out what rock was all about in the 80's, hair bands.  Having worked in rock radio for more than 30 years now, I've seen the trends come an go.  It was time for the Whitesnakes and Warrants of the world to go away.  Pretentious lyrics and super image laden bands were replaced on the airwaves by became known as 'Grunge'.  It was very honest in it's lyrical approach, whereas the hair bands mostly wrote about sex and partying. The 'Grunge' movement that really was launched mostly in the city of Seattle touched millions of disenfrachised young folk and made them feel that they are not alone in their mental struggles.  So today, for POLL TOPIC TUESDAY, my question to you is..."Which Band Is The Best To Come From The 90's Grunge Scene?"   Take my poll, enter your own answer of you like, but please no haters.

After you take the poll, enjoy a couple of my personal favorite videos from the 'Grunge' era.
