That's right...there is a Facebook page calling for a boycott of shopping on Thanksgiving Day, in effort to give the retail worker a break on this holiday.  Here's the lowdown on the movement direct from the Boycott Shopping on Thanksgiving Day Facebook Page

"This page was started in 2010 when retailers like Target, Wal-Mart, Sears, Toys-R-Us and K-Mart announced they would open their doors at 8PM Thanksgiving Night to get a jump on Black Friday. The list is growing, and now opening times are earlier and malls are opening as well, fining retailers within their malls if they do not open their doors.

What’s the big deal, right? It’s only 8PM: After dinner, the football games, the parades… But what about the employees who have to work at these stores? They don’t just arrive at 8:00. They arrive an hour or 2 earlier than that to prepare for the opening, leaving their family gathering or missing it all together.
Some families see each other all the time, I’m fortunate enough to be part of one, but most only see each other on holidays.
The solution is simple: If we don’t shop on Thanksgiving Day, it won’t be profitable for the retailers and they won’t do it again next year."

Seems logical, but it takes a mass movement to make it work.  So, my question to you in this edition of POLL TOPIC TUESDAY is "Are You Going to Shop on Thanksgiving Day, or Boycott, and Support the Worker?"   To participate, weigh in in the poll below!
