Phone Topic Tuesday! “Which Holiday Gives You The Best Reason To Party?”

There are Holidays, and then there are holidays. Some differ from the other in the fact that we have religious holidays like Christmas, Easter, Yom Kippur, Kwanzaa and more.  There are National Holidays like President's Day, Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor day and Thanksgiving.  Then there are Holidays that seem like their only reason to exist is to have a reason to party.

For instance, this Friday boasts Franklin Street’s Mardi Gras Pub Crawl from 6 p.m. until 2 a.m.  The armband for the night costs $5 and can be purchased at any of the participating restaurants/bars.

There's St.Patty's Day where no one but the Irish seem to know who St.Patrick was, but the day gives a reason to guzzle green beer.  We're on that bandwagon with the Patty O’Beach indoor beach party on Friday, March 14th at the Owensboro Convention Center.

More great Holidays that give us a reason to party, Cinco DeMayo, Memorial Day, which I mentioned as a National Holiday, but it also kicks off the summer season for most. There's the night before Thanksgiving (?!?) which has become a huge bar night, and Halloween of course is one more reason to party. Rounding out the year's party schedule is the New Year's Eve celebration, also known as "Amateur Night"...the only night of the year when some decide to go out and tie on a big drunk, argue, fight, cry and take a cab home.
