Following 24 straight years as the leading touring punk, hardcore metal fest, the Vans Warped Tour rumbled to an explosive conclusion yesterday (Aug. 5) at the Coral Sky Amphitheater in West Palm Beach, Fla. How did it end?  With a storming set by Pennywise and a cameo by Warped founder Kevin Lyman, which can be seen in the video posted below.

Pennywise, who played the very first Warped Tour in 1995, was the obvious choice to wrap up the last show of the festival. "Are you ready for the last ever motherfucking Warped Tour," the band shouted before launching into "Wouldn't It Be Nice," the first song from their self-titled first album, which came out in 1991.

The group blasted through a career-spanning set 34-minute set ending with the rousing "Bro Hymn," that featured a full-stage of performers. Many fans and musicians predicted that Pennywise would close the festival, but the actual set times weren't announced until the day of the concert.

"We’re honored to close out the final @VansWarpedTour tonight in West Palm Beach at 8PM on the Journey's Left Foot Stage," Pennywise tweeted when they lineup was announced. "Thank you for letting us be a part of it, @KevinLyman."

"We ended the way we began with Pennywise and Kevin Lyman," tweeted Warped organizers. "We now give this tour to the fans. Take the spirit of Warped w/you into your lives and do great things. Build each other up, engage in philanthropic endeavors, and never forget your roots."

Another Warped regular, Every Time I Die were also excited to play the final show and hoped to be the final act of the day. "Wanted to get to 8:31 so we could be the last band anyone would ever hear at Vans Warped Tour," tweeted the band. "Made it to 8:18 before the power got cut." The band actually attempted to stick around as long as they could, remaining onstage as the dismantling of their performance area started.
