Saturday, July 26th, 1986. A date that means a lot to fellow rockers here in the tri-state.

1986 was a big year for Evansville.

Ronald Reagan visited.

Barbara Bush visited.

It was the last year of the professional Evansville Basketball team The Evansville Thunder.

And Ozzy Osbourne and Metallica rocked out the Mesker Ampitheatre on this date 32 years ago.

Or, at least they would have, if James Hetfield hadn't broken his wrist skateboarding down Reitz Hill before the show.

Metallica had to bow out of the show, but promised that Ozzy would play an extra long set to make up for it.

I don't think anyone told Ozzy though, because he just did his normal set and called it a night.

Needless to say, many Metallica fans were NOT pleased.

BUT, it does make for a good trip down Memory Lane.

Especially since Ozzy tweeted about it today.
