It was epic...Jay Bruce steps up in the bottom of the 9th, tied game and takes the first pitch out to center to clinch the division and give my Reds their first postseason berth since 1995.  However, they were  not quite ready for the show being subsequently swept by the Philadelphia Phillies.

This was supposed to be the year...when they make the big jump...

As of this blog posting, they are currently wrapping up a lackluster season against the New York Mets at Citi Field. From division champs to a sub .500, 3rd place finish.

Where's the champagne?

Oh well...there are some exciting finishes playing out in both leagues, one including those resurgent and whiny St. Louis Cardinals looking to force a one game playoff against the Atlanta Braves. Same thing in the AL with the Red Sox choking and the Tampa Bay Rays trying to crash the party.

At least there's that?

*sigh*

There's always next year...
