They're back! Nonpoint will be rocking fans this summer with their new album The Poison Red and they've already gotten a jump on things by releasing the single "Generation Idiot." The track now has a lyric video that you can watch above.

The group premiered the lyric video with Madison, Wis. radio station WJJO and as you can see in the clip, the lyrics play out over the top of some pretty frenzied and chaotic scenes, mirroring the vibe of the song.

Upon the track's recent debut, vocalist Elias Soriano stated that the song was inspired by those who get caught up in Internet culture. "Over the past five years, I began to notice people, myself included, getting lost in a few of the simple things — life, art, passions," he explained. "Everything became a reality TV blog with pictures and comments, likes and dislikes, online bullies and online tough guys. And no one is talking anymore. Everything is texts, e-mails, replies and denies. They're all anchors. They all suck the life out of life. It creates zombies with unhinged appetites. It's a real zombie apocalypse and, motherf--ker, I'm grabbing a machete and a shotgun."

"Generation Idiot" is featured on Nonpoint's The Poison Red album, which is currently on target for a July 8 release via Spinefarm Records. The band recorded the disc in Chicago with the assistance of producer Rob Ruccia. It's currently available for pre-order in a variety of options here.

Look for Nonpoint to hit the road this summer around the time of the album's release. Their North American trek kicks off June 30, with Failure Anthem providing support and Buckcherry joining the bill for select dates. Then, in August, the band will play a string of shows with In This Moment. See all of their tour stops here.
