It would be tough to find a rocker that isn't aware of Nirvana.  Do they understand just how important they were to the world of rock?

Tomorrow (Sept 24) marks the 25th release of this landmark album.  Fronted by the late Kurt Cobain and the rhythm section of drummer Dave Grohl and bassist Krist Novoselic. Rolling Stone magazine rated :Nevermind" at #17 as one of it's 500 most important albums of all time.   The album knocked Michael Jackson's "Dangerous" out of the #1 spot on the billboard charts thanks in large part to the rock radio hit "Smells Like Teen Spirit". That started the ball rolling as singles "Come As You Are", "Lithium" and "In Bloom". Kurt one told Dave Grohl "The lyrics don't matter so much, it's all about the music"

The effect Nirvana had rippled through the rock world, soon to be followed by other Seattle bands Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, Mudhoney, Screaming Trees and more. The profound effect these Seattle bands have on the rock genre was killing off a genre that had outlived itself...hair bands.  The hair bands song were all about getting laid for the most part.  The Seattle bands wrote about what young people could relate to at the time, and still do.  Happy 25th Anniversary Nirvana!  Thanks for changing the world. Below is a Nirvana playlist from You Tube.  Just let them play one after another
