2007 marked a turning point in the career of Nikki Sixx. The Motley Crue bassist issued The Heroin Diaries, a book chronicling the drug-filled period of his life and his struggles with sobriety. Along with that, he teamed up with friends James Michael and DJ Ashba to create a companion soundtrack while working under the moniker Sixx: A.M. Now, a decade later, Sixx: A.M. have evolved into a full-fledged band and Sixx's primary musical outlet and the book went on to become a New York Times bestseller. Today (Aug. 21), marks the 10th anniversary of The Heroin Diaries release, and Sixx has revealed that 10th anniversary editions of both the book and soundtrack are in the works, as well as a Heroin Diaries graphic novel.

"Over the last ten years I’ve met so many people who have thanked me for The Heroin Diaries and say that it saved their lives," explains Sixx. "But the truth is, writing The Heroin Diaries saved my life too." The bassist is now 16 years sober and in the midst of the growing opioid crisis, his story is more relevant than ever.

For the updated soundtrack, there are three newly reimagined songs, including "Life Is Beautiful 2017," a more haunting version of the original track. Take a listen in the player provided above. "Accidents Can Happen 2017" and "Girl With the Golden Eyes 2017" are the other two new additions.

Sixx will release the album in a variety of packages, including digital LP, CD, CD/DVD, special edition vinyl and graphic novel. There is currently a Pledge Music pre-order where fans can place their orders depending on how much they want to dig into all of the offerings. The 10th anniversary edition of the book will arrive Oct. 24, with the 10th anniversary soundtrack landing on Oct. 27. Head here to access the PledgeMusic pre-order.
