Wealthy people may be having better sex than their welfare counterparts; at least that appears to be the consensus of a recent Spanish study that suggests there may be a correlation between socioeconomic status and quality of sex.

The Barcelona Public Health Agency recently conducted a survey of nearly 10,000 people and found significant evidence to back up claims that rich people are having better sex than the poor.

"People of a lower socioeconomic status claim to be less satisfied sexually, which especially applies to women, who seem to be more influenced by these factors," said lead researcher Dolores Ruiz.

Another study, this one published in the Annals of Epidemiology, noted that people without concern for finances were more sexually aware and had a greater capacity for finding pleasure in their sexual experiences – particularly in women.

Interestingly, a study published last year by the University of Colorado found that individuals who believed they were getting more sex than their friends experienced higher levels of sexual satisfaction.

"Having more sex makes us happy, but thinking that we are having more sex than other people makes us even happier,” said lead author Tim Wadsworth.
