Green Day hasn’t put out an album since 2009′s lackluster and politically motivated ’21st Century Breakdown.’ The serious tone of the album took away one of the best things Green Day is known for - being fun, smartass punks.

The band plans to go back to their less serious side with a trilogy of albums, appropriately named ‘¡Uno!,’ ‘¡Dos!’ and ‘¡Tré!’ Singer Billie Joe Armstrong says Green Day is going for more of a straight up rock record. They recently unleashed a sneak peek at the trilogy’s first album, and now they have released a trailer for the first two albums as well.

Armstrong sat down with Rolling Stone and told the magazine how the group wanted to go back to basics with the new discs. “The last two records were studio albums. This one, we started rehearsing every day, constructing these songs together,” Armstrong said. “It felt like we were all in a room jamming … everyone in the mix, throwing out ideas. If you listen to it, it feels grand. But it also feels like a garage band.”

That is indeed what Green Day are going for judging by the new trailers for 'iUno'!' and ‘¡Dos!,’ which you can watch below. The clips are only 34 seconds long, but it gives viewers an idea of what to expect from the band’s new releases. Look for ‘¡Uno!,’ ‘¡Dos!’ and ‘¡Tré!’ on Sept. 25, 2012; Nov. 13, 2012 and Jan. 15, 2013.
