Talk about your heavy-metal thunder on the tube.

VH1 Classic has scheduled 11 days of metal-themed programming in early November that will culminate with its self-proclaimed National Metal Day on Nov. 11.

"Nobody is more metal than VH1 Classic," said Ben Zurier, VH1 Classic's executive vice president of programming strategy. "Celebrating National Metal Day on 11-11-11 gives us a platform to honor metal artists, and take metal music one step further than anybody has before."

Starting Nov. 1, metal legends such as Metallica, Judas Priest, Motley Crue and Black Sabbath will be featured each night via concerts, videos and other programming as part of VH1 Classic's 11 Days of Metal.

It all leads up to National Metal Day on Nov. 11 and the premiere that night of 'Behind the Music Remastered: Megadeth' at 9 p.m. ET/PT. That will be followed by the premiere episode of the documentary 'Metal Evolution' at 10 p.m. An 11-episode series produced by Banger Films, 'Metal Evolution' is based on the heavy-metal family tree that was created by Banger's Sam Dunn; the list was included in the special DVD edition of the 2005 documentary 'Metal: A Headbanger’s Journey.'
