You may be familiar with a band called Egypt Central.  They were a B to C level band that were mostly limited to playing clubs and radio festivals with only minor radio success throughout the band's life span which ended about 2 years ago.  If I'm not mistaken, I believe Egypt Central had performed at least once at Woody's or another local club.  Funny how things go away and another quickly take is place though.  The demise of Egypt Central and the formation of Devour the Day were announced simultaneously via a letter written by Joey Chicago and posted to Egypt Central's Facebook page.

So now we have former Egypt Central Drummer Black Allison moving from behind the drum kit to sing and Joey "Chicago" Walser on guitar and bass.  The new lineup, now known as Devour The Day  released an EP entitled "Time and Pressure" back on April 2 of 2012.  The band landed a distribution deal and decided the EP should become a full release, so the full album "Time and Pressure" came out yesterday, Jan 14.

Blake Allison will be a featured guest on "Loudwire Reloaded" that I host Saturday night at 8 on 103GBF.  So, listen to our chat about the band's formation and where they're headed. and check out the videos for their first hit "Good Man" and their brand new single which premiered at Loudwire.com, "Move On".  All those are below the interview with Black right here...
