My Interview With the Author of “Louder Than Hell: The Definitive Oral History Of Metal”

Coming up this Saturday night at 8 on the “Loudwire Top 20″, I’ll not only count down the top rock songs in America, but I’ve also got a great interview with Jon Weiderhorn, who along with co-author Katherine Turman have written the gloriously fat book entitled “Louder Than Hell: The Definitive Oral History Of Metal!”

Rather than just write a book in narrative style, Jon and Katherine have culled interviews with nearly 400 musicians from the metal genre.  They work their way through each era and style of metal as it develops and morphs into various sub genres over the passage of time.

People like Tom Morello, Scott Ian, Rob Halford, Edit Trunk and many other celebrated people within the world of rock have raved about this book.  I think it’s one of the best things I’ve read in years, and I really love books about the world of rock, the music, the musicians, etc.

The book just came out, and here’s a photo from the release party in New York City.

Below you get a preview of my interview with Jon, than will be in an edited down form for “Loudwire Radio” this Saturday night at 8.  The book is available wherever you buy books, or you can order it right here.
