'Hit the Lights.' Check. 'Fuel.' Check. And you can now add another Metallica classic to the band's weeklong residency on 'The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson.' During Wednesday night's airing, the band rocked out a heavy, crowd-pleasing rendition of 'For Whom the Bell Tolls.'

The performance was a hard-hitting one, as evidenced by drummer Lars Ulrich who was quite animated behind his kit. Meanwhile, Robert Trujillo laid down some killer low end and James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett brought their usual aplomb to the rendition.

For the Wednesday night performance, Metallica were introduced by Ferguson's non-verbal horse Secretariat, who simply nodded to both sides, then trotted offstage while Kirk Hammett bore a slight grin at the sight.

Metallica are playing 'The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson' all week. Be sure to tune in tonight at 12:35PM ET / PT on CBS to catch their next appearance.
