A few hours ago, news outlets jumped the gun a bit in announcing that ABC had officially greenlit Marvel's Joss Whedon-directed 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' to series, though no such announcement had yet come. The pickup is fully expected mind you, but new intel suggests the official announcement won't come until sometime tomorrow. But the real question is, what's this latest 'Hulk'-like clip that ABC briefly released along with the news?

Hold on to your hats, Marvel fans, it seems an Avenger might be headed to Marvel's 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' after all, along with a full-season pickup expected to be announced tomorrow. ABC corrected several outlets this evening that erroneously reported the pickup early, but in doing so, briefly revealed a silent, grainy clip that appeared to show a Hulk rampage!

Might ABC and Joss Whedon have been covering up "the big guy" all along? The clip was quickly taken down, but will likely pop up in more places before the official announcement of the 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' pickup arrives tomorrow. Previously, Whedon had said of 'The Avengers' involvement in the series “For me the most important thing is that people fall in love with [the show] on its own merits, rather than constantly asking, 'Is there gonna be an Avenger?' Well, there’s not gonna be a Hulk because that guy’s too expensive.”

Marvel’s ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ TV series features a cast that includes Clark Gregg’s resurrected Agent Phil Coulson, as well as Whedon vet J. August Richards,  ‘ER’ doc Ming-Na, Chloe Bennet, Brett Dalton, Elizabeth Henstridge and Iain De Caestecker as the other agents of the team. Nick Fury himself, Samuel L. Jackson previously stated that he expected to be involved in some small capacity, while ‘How I Met Your Mother‘ and ‘The Avengers‘ star Cobie Smulders remains open to the possibility as well.

Check out the grainy clip below, and stay tuned for an official 'Agents of SHIELD' announcement to come? What do you make of the clip below?
