Ark Crisis Child Care Center is a local non-profit daycare that offers free, short-term child care for kids whose families are in crisis. After becoming the target of vandals over the weekend, they are needing your help.

Monday morning Ark employees arrived to find a playground full of broken toys. It seems that some vandals (there is another word I'd like to use, but can't) decided to smash all the toys to bits.

That has made the playground unusable as workers scramble to clean up the mess, and make sure that no broken shards are left behind. And even when the playground is opened again, all the broken toys had to be disposed.

That's extremely unfortunate considering that the weather is about to warm up and kids are about to spend more time outdoors.

But you can help! The daycare is looking for toy donations, and containers to keep them in.  The center is located on Lincoln Avenue and contact information can be found on their website.

In 2012, the Ark Crisis Child Care Center served over 1500 area children, with a waiting list of over 2000.
