Back in the late 70's and early 80's when I was playing in a hard rock band called Silent Partner we would always go and check out other bands in town.  It was kinda like being in a gang. You and your boys, y'know?  One of the places we frequented was The Alibi, now known as Doc's Sportsbar (I guess it still is).  We'd go to see a couple of the better bands in town like The Taylor Bay Band and The Phonz

The Phonz lineup at that time included Larry Grisham and Tommy Stillwell.  After the new wave genre fizzled the band was renamed The Beat Daddy's and began playing the music that Larry and Tommy excelled at...the blues.  Both guys have been lifelong musicians, touring especially in the south where the blues thrive.  To me, The Phonz and The Beat Daddy's both shaped my life and my musical awareness of other genres beyond rock and metal.   The news of late is that Larry Grisham has fallen quite ill, and needs help to pay for medical expenses.  That's where you come in.

Here's the info on the benefit for Larry.

This benefit, once again, is to benefit for Larry to help him out with the medical bills he is receiving for the illness he is facing right now. Many gift baskets will be raffled off and some signed instruments to auction off plus gift cards from numerous donors.
MoPie and The Unusual Suspects will be playing. There will be great food, drinks and music, not to mention good friends.  I hope you can make it out to help my old friend Larry out.
