‘Last Resort’ and ‘666 Park Avenue’ Tweaking Endings After Cancellation
Many were shocked, or – if nothing else – a little surprised when ABC opted not to move forward with additional episodes of buzz-worthy freshman dramas ‘Last Resort‘ and ‘666 Park Avenue‘ last week, both of which opened to some acclaim but failed to perform in their difficult time slots. The abrupt cancellation also has fans wondering if the stories of either series will reach satisfying conclusions after only 13 episodes, but now both show-runners have gone on record indicating the cancelled shows will be tweaked to reflect a series finale. What changes can we expect?
Fear not ‘Last Resort’ fans, or even ‘666 Park Avenue’ viewers, your interest in the cancelled ABC dramas will not go unresolved. In spice of ABC’s decision not to move forward with either talked-about series after their 13-episode runs, respective show-runners Shawn Ryan and ‘Last Resort’ producers David Wilcox and Matt Miller confirmed with TVLine that the shows would receive a proper end.
“We have time to tweak,” said ‘Last Resort’ creator Shawn Ryan, who will now focus on his role helming CBS’ ‘Beverly Hills Cop‘ TV series. Ryan assures viewers that the final episode of the naval drama’s 13-hour run will satisfyingly function as a full-fledged series finale.
Meanwhile Wilcox and Miller claim that the coming episodes of ‘666 Park Avenue’ are “building to a powerful and surprising series finale, where all your questions will be answered. We hope fans of the show continue watching all the way to the end of Jane and Henry’s incredible journey to the dark side.”
What say you? Will you miss either ‘Last Resort’ or ‘666 Park Avenue?’ Can either end with any real closure?
