I can remember my grandmother talking about all parts of the city that bore a name, similar to the boroughs in New York.  Evansville used to have neighborhoods like Rosedale, Lincoln Villa, Jimtown, Boxtown, Howell, Jacobsville and others. Obviously some of those names still are represented by neighborhood folks.

The Jacobsville neighborhood is north of downtown Evansville, bordered by the Lloyd Expressway to the south, First Avenue to the west, Diamond Avenue to the north, and Governor/Garvin to the east.  The neighborhood is well populated with an estimated 7,000 residents that call Jacobsville home.

So, now that you know where Jacobsville is actually located, let's talk about the effort to clean up and make this part of town thrive like never before.
