Jackyl “Rowyco” Album Review : Wonderfully As Raunchy As Ever!
Jackyl broke through at a time when the radio audience was screaming for straight ahead kickass rock. Jackyl delivered. 103GBF and I both have a long history with singer Jesse James DuPree. At one time, we campaigned for our own Turner Watson to be President an Jesse his 'vice' president. It all ended with a July 4th rally and concert at Fast Eddy's. Jesse and I were so tight, he put my name on the "Jackyl Greatest Hits" album, F***ing cool!
Jackyl has a new album out called "Rowco" which dropped on 8/5 via the band's Mighty Loud Records. The disc is unmistakably the Jackyl sound, but in spots they sound more contemporary to keep up to date on the current rock scene. There are a few stunners on the album's 10 songs. The opening track "Disasterpiece" has such a good groove, killer tune to kick of the album. Other standouts are "Crazy", and "Rally" which is the first single off the album. Listen to it below.
All in all, this is the best of the past 3 or 4 Jackyl CD's and will certainly satisfy fans of the band. I give it 3 out of 5 stars, and I'm a bitch when it comes to album review. Good job Jackyl. See you at 'The Full Throttle Saloon" or somewhere.
