Iron Maiden fans, rejoice! If you've been worried about the slow rollout of dates from metal's touring juggernaut, rest easy. Eddie and the boys have now announced tour dates for a whole host of places, now including Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, and Europe.

The band will be touring in support of their first ever double-album, The Book of Souls, which has been met with wild critical acclaim and fanfare. Anticipation is high after the album and tour were pushed back due to singer Bruce Dickinson's tongue cancer diagnosis. The high-flying frontman is back in business after making a full recovery and will be piloting the newest incarnation of Ed Force One en route to shows. The jumbo jet weighs three times more than Maiden's previous plane.

Bruce seems just as excited as the fans, stating

We cannot wait to get back out on tour. Maiden thrive on touring and getting out to our fans, it’s also what we enjoy the most. When we play in Fort Lauderdale it will be 19 months since our last show at Sonisphere in the UK so we will be raring to go.

We haven’t decided on the set list as yet and won’t until we start rehearsing but we really look forward to playing a number of new songs live, especially as the recording was so much live. However, as it’s been a while since we saw you all, I am sure we will include plenty of older fan favourites too. I think the fans will be delighted by what we have in mind. We are also in the middle of creating the new show and rest assured we are working hard to bring you all something spectacular, something with a lot of heart !!! You certainly deserve it for your patience.

Tickets will be on sale at different times depending on the country, so be sure to check Iron Maiden's website for the exact details. As always, fan club members will get an exclusive pre-sale.
