ORIGINAL STORY

An explosion near the intersection of Hercules and Morgan Avenues on Evansville's north side has sent three people to the hospital.

At 8:50 a.m., the Evansville/Vanderburgh Emergency Management Agency sent out the following tweet regarding an explosion in the 1700 block of Hercules Avenue.

Roughly 40 minutes later, Indiana State Police Trooper, Sergeant Todd Ringle tweeted the building in question was a home in the area.

Joe Bird, from our media partner, Eyewitness News, was on the scene providing updates through his Twitter account as well, which included no definitive reasoning behind the explosion at this time.

Evansville Watch is also monitoring the situation through scanner activity, and is asking residents to try and avoid the area if possible.
