In ‘Harry and the Hendersons,’ a family thinks they've run over a sasquatch on the way home from a camping trip. However, it turns out the beast, who they strap to the roof of their car, survived the accident and develops a relationship with the family while being pursued by a famed Big Foot hunter.

The movie was a moderate success in 1987 and even snagged a Best Make Up Oscar. See what the cast of ‘Harry and the Hendersons’ is up to today.

Then: John Lithgow channeled his manic energy to play George Henderson, who hits Harry with the station wagon. Previously, Lithgow was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actor in 1983 and 1984 for 'The World According to Garp' and 'Terms of Endearment,' respectively, and was already the recipient of a Tony award.

Now: Lithgow made the leap to TV thanks to his run as the lead alien on 'Third Rock From the Sun' and has recently had recurring roles on 'How I Met Your Mother' and 'Dexter,' the latter of which earned him an Emmy and a Golden Globe award. This puts him just one precious Oscar away from attaining EGOT status. Sadly, we don't think his work in the Judd Apatow comedy 'This is 40' is going to get him one this year.
