Well, it happened! Guns N' Roses performed their first show with the reunited Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan at the Troubadour in Los Angeles on Friday night just after midnight. The show was announced earlier in the day, with hundreds of fans lining up for only 250 available tickets, with the rest being given out via an exclusive guest list.

The classic members were joined by longtime keyboardist Dizzy Reed, plus guitarist Richard Fortus and drummer Frank Ferrer of the most recent incarnation of the band. One surprise was the addition of Melissa Reese in place of recent member Chris Pitman as second keyboardist. Despite rumors, there was no appearance from classic drummer Steven Adler. (Note: See an update on Adler below.)

According to Setlist.fm, the set was heavy on Appetite for Destruction songs, with only one song each being played from the two Use Your Illusion albums, but it did feature Slash performing a couple of songs from Chinese Democracy for the first time. There were also a handful of covers played during the night.

No cameras or recording devices were allowed in the venue, but it appears several fans were able to sneak photos and videos. See a sampling below.

Before Guns N' Roses took the stage at the Troubadour, fans rushed down to a pop-up store in the Gibson Brands lot, which was transformed back to the Tower Records that once occupied the space as a staging area to purchase tickets. Word leaked out early about the show and by the time the announcement was made public about ticket sales, the line was long enough that many who hadn't been there in the early morning hours missed out on tickets for the 500-person capacity show.

However, they didn't leave completely empty-handed as the Gibson Brands store reverted to Tower Records on the outside, with Guns N' Roses iconography plastered around the store, merch booths set up outside and DJs pumping tunes in the parking lot. Inside, the store was uniquely Guns N' Roses, as fans entered to a "Guns N' Roses Live" letter board similar to that of The Roxy down the street, a giant Guns N' Roses logo that many fans used for photo ops, and a room filled with all sorts of memorabilia curated by Blaine Halvorson.

You could spot Guns N' Roses awards from their album certification plaques to their MTV moonman trophy. There was a Guns N' Roses pinball machine, all sorts of tour programs and personal photos specifically of Rose, Slash and Duff. And of course, the clothes -- from Slash's top hat to Duff's CBGB tank top to Axl Rose's boxing robe and personalized sneakers, it was a sight to behold. Meanwhile, a number of fans who tired of standing in the queue all morning for tickets pulled up a seat and watched the scantily clad pole dancers performing routines on a stage to Guns N' Roses songs as the band's videos played in the background.

The mini Guns N' Roses museum was a nice touch by the band prior to the first performance of their touring, giving longtime fans a chance to get in the right mindset reflecting on the greatness of the past before enjoying the history-making performance of the present.
