After screenings earlier this year at events including the Aspen X Games, South by Southwest and the Newport Film Festival, Green Day's documentary ‘¡Cuatro!’ will be released Sept. 24 on DVD and via iTunes. Watch the trailer above.

The documentary, which chronicles the conceptualizing and recording of Green Day's trilogy of albums '¡Uno!,' '¡Dos!' and '¡Tré!' will be available on DVD (pre-order at Amazon) and via iTunes, Amazon and Qello. It was directed by Tim Wheeler and produced by Tim Lynch.

Fans got a sneak preview of the film late last year with a highlight show that aired on VH, MTV2 and Palladia, and now can see the entire thing.

"Over the last year while we were recording our trilogy, we posted multiple clips every week so fans can see parts of the recording process of '¡Uno!,' '¡Dos!' and ¡Tré!," said bassist Mike Dirnt. "'¡Cuatro!' brings our fans one step closer by giving them even more access and revealing what it was like for us to make these records."

It has been about a year since frontman Billie Joe Armstrong's now infamous rant at the 2012 iHeart Radio Festival and subsequent trip to rehab. In a recent interview Dirnt says the band is now in a good place. “It’s pretty awesome right now,” Dirnt shares. “Before it was tense … it was chaos [touring the world after] coming right out of recording ['Uno,' 'Dos' and 'Tre']. Now we’ve had time to let the dust settle and get our s–t together, we’re ready to tour and play. [But] we’re going to take some breaks in between so we don’t kill ourselves."
