Much like a food critic, who dines at various restaurants then writes about their experience...so I do with tattoo shops.  Thus far I have visited and written about several shops in the area like Sutton Tattoo, Revolution Ink and Unspoken Art Studio.  My latest venture was coming downtown to Bazooka Tooth Tattoo, on Main St. between 2nd and 3rd right next to The Twilight Bistro.  The shop's owner Richard Holt and I have known each other for a long time, but I've never had the honor of being tattooed by him.  That part changed this past Saturday, as Richard tattooed me with a custom design he drew up for me in honor of my new grandbaby Lyric.  Below is the design...and then below that, the finished tattoo.  Awesome work!

One of the coolest things about Bazooka Tooth is the atmosphere and the vibe.  Very comfy, very laid back.  Plus everyone is working.  If they are not tattooing, they're painting...working on their craft, improving.  I admire that. The shop's other two artists, the legendary Joji Nagashima, who's work is sampled below...

Both have a portfolio worth looking through on the shop's Facebook Page here and website here.  I also love the fact, that the shop is downtown, a couple blocks from where I work.  Downtown has a cool vibe these days and Bazooka Tooth is all part of that.  Their Facebook page and their website have more shop info including business hours.  The guys that work in the shop try to keep it fun with things like $20 Tattoos on Friday the 13th and other cool promotions.  All in all, I'm extremely happy with my tattoo and my experience at Bazooka Tooth.
