From Jaqen to The Hound, Game of Thrones isn’t one to leave us hanging forever. That’s why fans expect a certain fan-favorite will row ashore in Season 7, and the actor in question has now seemingly confirmed we’ll see them soon.

You’re warned of full spoilers for Game of Thrones Season 7 from here on out, but it seems as if we no longer need to theorize. Joe Dempsie’s Gendry is indeed returning for the seventh and penultimate season, as revealed in conversation with the Los Angeles Times:

We won’t spoil at what point Gendry pops up in the season but in a chat with The Times a few hours before the premiere, Dempsie said he was relieved by the reaction from the diehard fans who sleuthed it out. ‘Very fortunately, from what I’ve seen it’s been nothing but interest and excitement and some quite witty memes.’

Gendry hasn’t been seen since Season 3 finale “Mhysa,” in which Davos famously sent him toward the open ocean in a rowboat, far away from Melisandre and Stannis’ grasp. There’s no literary roadmap for the character going forward, as Gendry took the place of the books’ Edric Storm, who similarly went into hiding after Davos sent him away.

We’ll see if perhaps Gendry shows up in Sunday’s premiere or later, but will we at least get to see his reunion with Arya?
