Game of Thrones has had a rough go of keeping Jon Snow’s Season 6 status under wraps, admittedly putting up a better fight than some, but at long last, the ex-Lord Commander is risen. Game of Thrones has officially confirmed Jon Snow’s return by a surprising new poster, along with an April premiere!

Early Monday, billboards started popping up from New York to Los Angeles, depicting a bloodied Jon Snow, but little else beside an “April” premiere date. Not only should that put to rest conspiracy theories of Kit Harington’s involvement in Season 6, but also that the 2016 premiere might be pushed to May, thanks to some unusual scheduling.

Before HBO confirmed with an official rendition:

Elsewhere of Game of Thrones Season 6, screen legend Max von Sydow has been cast as the mysterious Three-Eyed Raven to a returning Bran, while Deadwood alum Ian McShane will also appear in a limited, mysterious role, joining Richard E. Grant and The Babadook star Essie Davis as theatre troup players, four notable actors as the Tarly family, Melanie Liburd as a new Red Priestess, and Borgen star Pilou Asbæk as fan-favorite Euron Greyjoy. Apart from a list of directors, Of Monsters and Men will put in a cameo, and story logistics seemingly confirm scenes set at The Wall next year, presumably to explain this giant spoiler.

We still don’t know exactly when Game of Thrones will premiere, but is Jon Snow finally out of the bag? What else might HBO reveal on the road to 2016?
