As a way of saying thanks for all they do each and every day to keep us safe, the stations of Townsquare Media are once again teaming with Henderson Chevrolet to offer free lunch to all police officers, firefighters, paramedics, and EMTs this Friday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. as the nation prepares to recognize the 15th anniversary of the September 11th attacks this Sunday.

Anyone alive on September 11th, 2001 no doubt has the images of the two planes crashing into the World Trade Center forever ingrained in the minds along with the footage of hundreds of first responders selflessly running toward the chaos as thousands more ran away.

It was in those moments, and the days that followed, not only the nation, but the world, saw the dedication first responders had to saving the lives of others, even if it meant losing their own.

Fortunately, we've not seen a disaster of that level in the Evansville area. However, the actions of those brave men and women 15 years ago is a constant reminder of the dangers first responders put themselves in each and every day to protect the rest of us from harm.

As a small token of gratitude, we're inviting all local first responders in Evansville, regardless of department, to stop by the Townsquare Media offices at 117 Southeast 5th Street downtown, and those in Henderson to swing by Henderson Chevrolet on Highway 41 for a free barbecue lunch from Hawg & Sauce Barbecue in Mt. Vernon between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Each meal will feature an entreé and side, plus a can of RC Cola. All who stop by are welcome to stay and eat at our offices or at Henderson Chevrolet, or to-go boxes will be available for those who can't.
