Five Finger Death Punch Offer Up New Song Preview in Tour Highlights Clip

Five Finger Death Punch have had a tumultuous year, surrounded by inner band troubles and a lawsuit against their former label, Prospect Park. The band has expressed a desire to get back in the studio to record their next full length record and while the timetable on the release of this album is unknown given the legal battle, fans can rest assured that new music is indeed coming!

The band offered up a taste of an undisclosed new song in a “Highlights From the Road” video as seen above. Five Finger Death Punch were not so subtle, captioning the clip, “There is a strong possibility that there is a snippet of a brand new song in this video…” When the video opens up, fans will instantly recognize the Got Your Six track “This Is My War” as a fast-motion footage zooms through a backstage area.

When FFDP are located, they show off a clip of new music with one click on the keyboard. A mid-tempo groove pours from the speakers before the verse lines, “I don’t look for trouble, trouble looks for me / That’s how it’s always been, that’s how it’s gonna be / I’m looking down on you, you’re looking up to me / I never saw you coming, you never saw me” come in with the expected signature attitude. Moving into the chorus, it’s another sweeping, memorable refrain as Ivan Moody sings, “I can’t explain who I am /  ‘Cause there’s no excuses, this is who I’m meant to be…

Currently on a co-headlining run with Shinedown, Five Finger Death Punch made headlines over the weekend for a meltdown suffered by Moody, resulting in the band playing an abbreviated set. The frontman claimed on Friday (Nov. 25) that his mother was “passing along,” though that notion was refuted as a different member of his extended family is very sick. He apologized the following show, stating, “Last night I had a mental moment. It had nothing to do with alcohol, drugs, or any of it. True. Just melted down.”
