Luxury car makers are noticing a growing trend among their customers, their waistlines.

Mercedes, BMW, and Porsche are just a few of the brands that are introducing new features to their cars that will accommodate the horizontally challenged. Just last week BMW conducted tests to see the challenges overweight people have compared to everyone else, when it comes to driving.

Aside from not being able to get their stomachs around the steering wheel, overweight people face other challenges. Including increased blind spots due to not having the greatest ease looking back, and not being able to hit buttons in the car due to large 'sausage' fingers.

To help with the challenges of the husky, Porsche is introducing an electrical steering column that will allow large people to get in and out of the car easier. Mercedes is improving their grab handles above doors. Honda has increased the size of its seats two inches.

No car has announced a gravy dispenser, but we all know its coming. Since one-third of Americans are now overweight, its only a matter of time before we start looking like those people in Wall-E.
