One cool thing about having 5000 Facebook friends is I get invited to so may events.  I try to attend when I can.  If I can get my costume together I may have to join in the "Superhero Parade" this Saturday, part of  Evansville Streets Alive.

One of this group's current functions is to help the Jacobsville neighborhood become one that flourishes much like what has taken place (in the now awesome) Haynie's Corner Arts District. Evansville Streets Alive! is hosted jointly by the Evansville-area Trails Coalition (ETC) and ECHO Housing Corporation’s Jacobsville Join-in as a fundraiser for both organizations. Really, this Saturday's events do include a "Superhero Parade," but that is only one small part of this giant family fun day. The city will close Garvin park to North Main and Columbia to all vehicle traffic to create a space for plenty of walking through through the park, a car show, games, music, food and lots more.

The "Superhero Parade" kicks off at 11:45 in Garvin Park, and all Spiderman, Iron Man, Harley Quinn and Captain America types are welcome. You can also skate in the parade with Demolition Roller Derby Girls, Wagons and strollers are welcome too. Maybe best of all, admission in the parade and all other events is free. I like that word, FREE!
