A year and a half ago, Evansville passed a law that bans smoking in all indoor work spaces except the gambling areas of Casino Aztar. Tavern and private club owners filed suit to overturn the ban.

According to the Courier and Press, both sides met recently in a settlement conference. City Attorney Keith Vonderahe says that there will be no settlement and he believes that the law is constitutional.

Reviews from the bar, tavern and private clubs have been mixed. Some say that it has worked well and they're serving more food, while others say that they have seen a dramatic drop in business.

I'm really curious about what you think. After 18 months, is the smoking ban working?
