As a lifelong resident of Evansville, I take a lot of pride in my city.  I think we have so many great assets -  from quality schools to diversions and creative loafing.  We do have our share of problems, too, that's for sure.  Crime, and in particular shootings have been on the rise for the past couple of years.  Often it's gang related violence that tears up our neighborhoods, especially in the inner city.  We can work together, though, to curb some of this unwanted and senseless violence. Thus, you are invited to the next United Neighborhoods of Evansville General Membership Meeting  which will be on Thursday, February 26, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. at the CK Newsome Center, 100 East Walnut St.
